Could colic affect 49% of babies?
Yale study of 98 babies shows 48 with colic
Admittedly this is a very old study , but…. I don’t know, it may be still valid.
Most percentages quoted on the internet vary from between 20-26% occurance of colic among infants. However this Yale pediatric study shows a 49% rate of colic in infants.
This had always thought that 26% may be low, I was thinking that it may be closer to 33% but I had never thought it would be as high as 49%.
Another interesting fact that was revealed by the study is that 22 of the 48 babies with colic came from families with stress problems. I think that that figure may be slightly skewed toward the way the study was made, however it is telling.

Not sure if we can really take it seriously as the sampling is quite low, and since I have not read
