Dr claims 60% of colic babies have GERD or allergies

Posted by admin on November 23rd, 2009 | No Comments »

Dr Bryan Vertabedian, author of Colic Solved has claimed that up to 60% of babies with “colic” have either Reflux Disease or Milk protein allergies.

Right off the bat my first thought was, I bet this guys specialty has something to do with those 2 afflictions. And yes, it turns out the good Dr is a pediatric gastroenterologist (spelling?). As with most experts, they focus on their own specialty to the exclusion of others, and when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

However, reading on I have to say that I agree with almost all of what Dr Vertabedian has to say, except his numbers (unless he comes up with a proper study and hard figures).

I will buy the book Colic Solved and post further on this interesting development in the colic world.
